Drager Alcotest Breathalyser Calibration
Modern breathalysers are fitted with extremely sensitive cells. Without calibration, the accuracy of these sensors degrades over time and with repeated use. This will give false readings if not adjusted to account for ambient or surrounding conditions, and ultimately compromise the integrity of your alcohol testing.
Usually performed every six months, a breathalyser unit calibration will check and adjust the accuracy of a sensor by comparing its results with a known value. Even with very high spec alcohol breathalyser units such as those supplied by Drager, accuracy levels can deteriorate up to 15% per annum. It is important to calibrate devices periodically to maintain their accuracy - essential if results are to be construed as evidence.
